Our history

We have been building in Slovakia since 2010. Despite our humble beginnings as a small company, we have been one of the most modern and progressive developers in Slovakia.

We have established ourselves on the market, particularly by always offering our customers a healthier alternative and higher housing standards.

From day one, we have tasked ourselves with making each new project a step better than the last. From smaller projects in our early days, we gradually grew and moved towards larger and more ambitious developments in cooperation with the biggest names in world’s architecture and urbanism. Throughout the years, we have successfully revitalized multiple brownfields in Bratislava, converting them into vibrant urban neighbourhoods.

We solidified our position as leaders in ecological development by obtaining a certification for constructing the most environmentally friendly building in Slovakia and Slovenia, where we operate since 2018.. In 2022, we have also opened our office in Prague, Czechia.

The Greenest Building in Slovenia is Ready for Construction

Dec 20 2022

Vilharia, the first LEED Platinum building in Slovenia received the final building permit. The complex of sustainable and healthy offices will be the largest and most modern office project in Ljubljana, where the average office building on the market is already nearly 40 years old. The construction is set to start at the beginning of 2023 and bring 36,000 m2 of prime office space into the centre of the Slovenian capital.

Vilharia will revitalize the currently unused brownfield area along Vilharjeva cesta, located directly next to the Ljubljana bus and train station and city centre. The design from the pen of the Danish architectural studio Schmidt Hammer Lassen is based on Scandinavian tradition of lightness and comfort. The building's modular broad concept will allow larger companies to all work together on one floor and therefore be more connected – with each other and with the city life outside. Earlier this year, Corwin has also announced their aim to make Vilharia the first carbon-neutral building in the country and one of less than 10 buildings in the world with the LEED Zero Carbon certificate.

The administrative and business complex will be built according to the highest standards of technologically advanced sustainable construction and latest ESG principles. Heat pumps will utilize regenerative groundwater energy to help bring down the energy demand. Innovative technologies like intelligent air conditioning that uses CO2 sensors to monitor the quality of air will continually protect the health of occupants and provide a pleasant indoor environment. Needless to say, the building will feature world-class noise and heat insulation as well as natural materials and excellent transport connections.

“Our mission is to become the most sustainable developer that sets new trends and quality standards on the market. In Ljubljana, the public is highly aware of the need for green technologies and sustainable construction. And the companies are asking for sustainable, healthy and ESG compliant premises, among which Vilharia will be absolutely unique" explains Michal Maco, Country Manager, Corwin Slovenia.
